Support for compliance with fluorocarbon regulations and statutory inspections

Fluorocarbon Regulatory Compliance and
Statutory Inspection Support

Are your Vacuum System compliant with fluorocarbon regulations?

With tightening HCFC and HFC gas regulations, periodic inspection and reporting obligations now apply to Cryochillers for Vacuum System. Since the Fluorocarbon Emissions Control Act took effect in April 2017, many Cryochillers for Vacuum System using HCFC gas (R22 refrigerant) remain in active operation, and continued use after 2020 is permitted. However, under the Fluorocarbon Emissions Control Act, managers (users) are obligated to inspect and manage their Cryochillers and air conditioning system.

Fluorocarbon Emissions Control Act

Fully enacted in April 2017 to protect the ozone layer and combat global warming.
HCFC gas (R22 refrigerant): Production and consumption in developed countries fully banned since 2020. If a gas leak occurs in a Cryochiller for Vacuum System that uses HCFC gas, refrigerant recharging is no longer possible.

Montreal Protocol and Kigali Amendment

In October 2016, an amendment was adopted to newly designate alternative fluorocarbons (HFC gases) as regulated substances from a global warming perspective.
HFC gas: Developed countries are required to achieve a 70% reduction by 2029. Growing risk that refrigerant recharging will become difficult in the future.
