How to Check Refrigerant Gas

How to Check Refrigerant Gas

Managers must verify whether their equipment uses refrigerant gases subject to fluorocarbon regulations. Check your Cryochillers for Vacuum System by following the steps below.

STEP01: Where to Find Refrigerant Gas Information

First, locate where the refrigerant gas information is listed on your equipment.

On the side of the Cryochiller

Behind the temperature display unit

On the side with the refrigerant piping

Near the cooling water inlet

These are some common locations. You can also check the specifications section in the equipment manual.

STEP02: Examples of Regulated Designations (Nameplate Check)

If any of the following appear under the “Refrigerant” or “Refrigerant Gas” entry on the nameplate or in the instruction manual, the equipment is likely using a regulated gas.

Examples of designations indicating regulated gases

  • ・HCFC
  • ・HCFC mixed refrigerant
  • ・CFC
  • ・CFC-free
  • ・R22

*Other designations for regulated gases also exist. Contact us if you have any questions.
